Distributor fix
There has been a lot of hesitation from idle, and the timing was way off, so we thought to put the dist back in at TDC and see if that took care of having the timing way off. Plus, I had a Pertronix ignitor II I wanted to install.
Everything was very easy to put together, and my dist was off by 1, but my timing is still waay off. This did make it easier to start and less hesitation than before. Idle is back down to about 900 rather than 1100 though.

Finally after a year of waiting, the GTO is on the road. last week, we spend Thursday, Saturday and Sunday working on the disc brakes. Finished up everything, and the tires did not fit in the front. Monday, called up Firestone and ordered smaller front tires (215/65/15) - got them on Thursday, and they fit well. I rub on right turns, but right now I can't do anything about that. I have to install newer heavy-duty shocks to fix that.
Also changed the timing, it is WAY off, but the hesitation isn't so bad. I do stall if I don't give it enough gas from idle, but now I can floor it without a HUGE hesitation. Uncle Jim says the distributor may be off a tooth or 2.
I should make it to the Cranford Car show on Thursday, August 14th.

Ordered the disc brake kit, that's in the mail. Summit disc brake conversion kit includes:
* Power brake booster
* Master cylinder
* Proportioning valve kit
* Rotors
* Calipers
* Backing plates (where applicable)
* Spindles or brackets to convert existing spindles
* Brake hoses and banjo bolts (where applicable)
* Bearings
* Seals
* Dust caps
* Spindle nuts and washers
* Installation hardware
Should be here by the end of the week.
Bought 4 American Racing Ansen Sprint wheels - $150 for all 4 (great deal! Bought from a guy in Newton from Craigslist)
I called up Firestone and ordered 4 Firehawk Indy 500 wheels 225/70r15 - guy says they'll be in by the end of the week. I'll have them mounted and balanced, then we'll get to work on the kit when it arrives.

Good news and bad news
Friday, finished the brakes and dropped her on the ground. She started up immediately! Great news for all the things I've changed since she last started.
The rear brakes work great, but there is a problem with the front wheel hubs. Now I'm looking for a good set of used wheel hubs... and if I can't find them, I will have to order a disc brake conversion set and new wheels/rims.
Cranford car show is coming up this week, and I was so hopefully to be there.

Started work on the brakes, missing a few springs in the front, and my brake hoses are rotted, so I ordered the kits with the springs and Dave got me the hoses from NAPA. Once the springs come in this week, we should be finishing the brakes.
Went to install the starter yesterday, but one of the bolts is missing. Luckily NAPA had one in stock. Instead, added wire loom and black spark plug wires. Engine bay is finally clean and organized.
Today, installed starter. This took forever, and not something I would like to do in the near future again. Everything is ready, just need to put in the new battery once I have the car back on wheels. Hopefully everything works when I turn the key.
